This policy explains what information Tally Poker collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. [Operator name] (“we”, “us”) is responsible for that information.

In short
- We store your Google name and photo, your settings, and the games you take part in.
- Players in a game see that game’s roster, ledger and settlement. Your personal results and settings are visible only to you.
- We don’t sell your personal information, and the website has no third-party analytics.
- You can export your data or delete your account from Settings.
What we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication receives your Google account ID, name, email address and profile photo. We keep your name and photo in your Tally Poker profile; your email stays with the sign-in service.
- Settings: your default currency, recently used currencies, saved locations, notification preferences and appearance.
- Games: the games you host or join, including the game’s name, date, location and notes, its roster, every buy-in, rebuy, add-on and transfer with its approval history, final cash-outs, times you were clocked in, results and settlement.
- Guests: names and amounts that a host enters for players without an account.
- Notifications: the in-app notices about approvals, invitations, closed games and settlements.
- Splitwise, if you connect it: an access token, stored encrypted on our server and never sent back to your device, plus your Splitwise name, email and user ID so the app can show which account is connected.
- Technical information: our hosting and server providers record IP addresses, browser details and request times in their logs to deliver and secure the service.
- On your device: the sign-in session, and on the website the settle-up calculator’s draft table, are kept in your browser’s local storage. The calculator’s draft is never sent to us.
How we use it
- To run the service: create games, send entries for approval, calculate results and settlements, and show your history and statistics.
- To send in-app notifications about things that need your attention.
- To export a settlement to Splitwise when a host asks us to.
- To keep Tally Poker secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To show ads that keep Tally Poker free, as described below.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on performing our agreement with you to run the service, on our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and free, and on your consent where the law requires it, such as connecting Splitwise or ads that use cookies.
Who can see what
- Players in a game see that game’s roster, ledger, activity, results and settlement, including names and photos of the other players.
- Anyone with a game’s invite link sees a short preview: the game’s name, host, time, location, currency, default buy-in and player count.
- Your personal history, statistics and settings are visible only to you. Head-to-head comparisons use only games both players took part in.
- Nobody else can read your Splitwise token, including you: it is used only by our server.
Services we use
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions and Hosting) stores and serves Tally Poker’s data, in [data region].
- Google Sign-In verifies your identity.
- Splitwise receives the payments, names and amounts in a settlement only when a host chooses to export it.
- [ad provider] shows the ads that keep Tally Poker free.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own terms where you use them directly. The website loads its fonts from our own servers, not from a font service.
Advertising
Tally Poker is supported by a small number of ads, provided by [ad provider]. Ad providers may use cookies or device identifiers to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first and you can change your choice at any time. We never share the contents of your games with advertisers.
No selling of your information
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except as described under Advertising, which you can opt out of where the law gives you that right.
How long we keep it
- Your profile, settings and notifications are kept while your account exists.
- Game records are kept so the players in each game have an accurate history.
- Disconnecting Splitwise in Settings erases the stored token immediately. Disconnect it before deleting your account, or ask us to remove it.
- Server logs are kept by our providers for a limited period, then deleted.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account in Settings removes your profile, your private settings, your notifications and your sign-in. Finished games keep the name you played under, because the other players’ results and settlements depend on those records.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent. You can export your data and delete your account in Settings. For anything else, contact us; we may need to confirm it’s you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We don’t sell personal information.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where the law requires it, those transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access rules on the database limit each person to the games and records they are part of. Splitwise tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key kept in Google Cloud Secret Manager, and no app or browser can read them. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your Google account protected.
Children
Tally Poker is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes. Significant changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
